Golden Brown is a boutique label based in the Byron Bay hinterland, Australia that embodies a unique mix of romantic folk styles and rock chic, with a distinctly coastal 1970's feel.
We offer a 100% commitment to natural fibre fabrics, ethical and sustainable manufacturing, with a focus on hand crafted finishings and a strong focus on visual texture.
We've held back nothing when it comes to choosing luxurious fabrics, quality manufacturing and employing eco practices, and are still able to offer threads that are affordable for the young dreamers and the hip mamas alike.
Golden Brown is for those of us who sift through bargain piles, troll market stalls and vintage stores, but will splurge occasionally on that one must have item if you 'have to'. We know you. We are you.

Money makes the world go down, not 'round. We feel strongly about cultivating a society that takes only what it needs, and not contributing to a self serving, profit driven or capitalist culture. We will continue to structure our prices to reflect this ethos.
If a certain item seems expensive we would like you to understand this is because of the materials, time and workmanship that goes into the garment. GB garments are not produced on a mass scale in an environment that takes advantage of both the people who make the garment as well as our planet just to save you a few dollars. Our garments are produced on a very small scale in a real community of everyday artisans.
We believe nothing beautiful ever comes from a sweat shop or at the cost of our Mother Earth. We believe in a greener future and that everyone deserves the right to know where and how their clothing is produced. Our collections are ethically, environmentally and sustainably produced in small batches. This means that workers are paid above award wages and enjoy a clean and safe working environment. Environmentally responsible practices such as safe disposing of dyes and treatments for example, are employed to prevent run off into our eco systems. Our manufacturers offer a transparent approach to all its practices so you can wear your threads with pride, because knowledge is power.
